Commonly known as Swedish massage. Oil is used to create long sweeping and flushing movements in the muscular tissue, helping to bring fresh nutrient dense and oxygen rich blood to the tissues, while pushing old stagnant blood filled with waste biproducts. This type of massage and treatment addresses the circulatory and lymphatic system, and has a significant impact on the nervous and muscular systems. It prepares the body for deeper techniques by warming and softening the muscles and surrounding tissues.
Massage effecting the deeper tissues in the muscles. These techniques are highly beneficial for the release from chronic pain, structural patterns and clearing up of injuries by clearing up scar tissue and tightness. With an integrated mix and flow of circulatory and deep tissue massage, the body is brought into a state of deep relaxation, which allows access to the deeper layers of the muscles. In this state, touching on and relieving deeply held layers of tension becomes almost effortless. The endocrine system releases neurotransmitters into the tissues, which tell them it's safe to open up and relax, triggering a healing response. Deep tissue is often thought of as painful and hard to bear massage, but the style I use is often very enjoyable, bearable but extremely effective.
These deep tissue techniques can sometimes be momentarily painful for specific kinds of tissue injuries but communication is always encouraged and welcomed if anything is uncomfortable.
Unwinds movement and tension patterns held in the body throughout the myofascial network, the connective tissue between the muscles. This approach has a dramatic effect on the tension that creates less than efficient movement and posture in our bodies, leading to compensation patterns and limitations that take a lot of effort and energy to maintain. Alternatively, when the scar tissue, spasticity and tensiom are cleared up with myofascial release, the body can move in balance with freedom to perform and function without the restriction of past traumas and tensions.
Repatterning the communications between the body and the brain. Put simply, this technique improves the efficiency and function of the effects our nervous system has on our bodies and movement patterns. There might be a variety of reasons the neuromuscular system isn't in optimal health. This technique helps to release the memory of limiting and protective patterns that are not serving us. Our bodies can then remember more efficient patterns or learn more beneficial and balanced ways of movement and function. This style also dramatically improves the posture and movement in the body.
Gentle manipulation of areas effected by backed up lymphatic fluid(lymphedema). This technique is also known as manual lymphatic drainage. Lymphedema is when there is fluid retention in the tissues, causing a puffy and swollen appearance. Sometimes this condo can be painful and prevent an area of the body from fully healing. The fluid is manually cleared from the area it has collected, then manually pushed through the lymphatic pathways to be reabsorbed into the lymph nodes and flushed out.
